This customer contacted Carolina Energy Conservation after noticing that the insulation in their attic wasn't keeping their home as warm as it should. Our company was happy to help. We scheduled an appointment with the home owner, took out all their old insulation, and then installed blown-in insulation for them!
Looking into his attic, this Myrtle Beach resident noticed he could see the lower joist and knew his insulation was not sufficient. He called Carolina Energy Conservation for a free home energy evaluation. Choosing the attic sealing, fresh cellulose insulation to Department of Energy code and batting, this home is prepared for hot South Carolina summers. He can also rest assured that the air-conditioned air is not leaking through into the attic. We also installed insulation baffles to provide a channel for air to flow from the soffit vents in the eves of the roof along the slope, between the rafters, up to the ridge vent. This Myrtle Beach Homeowner now has the attic system to keep his home comfortable and more efficient all year long.

This single family home in Market Common was built in 2003. This home had blown insulation that was up to code (code means the minimum). Carolina Energy Conservation took out the old insulation and removed it from the property. We then came in to blow in new cellulose insulation. This insulation is made of recycled newspapers and treated with a special chemical that keeps the bugs and critters away. Before the new insulation was blown in the team sealed all of the can lights and electrical penetrations. After the blown in cellulose the homeowner reported the home was much more comfortable and he wished he had done this sooner.
