Jacob was having some humidity problems in his home so he took a look at his crawl space and saw that there was a lot of standing water under his home. He decided that he need to have the water removed from the crawl space, so he did some research.
He remembered seeing some ads for a local company that did crawl space repair and gave Carolina Energy Conservation a call. We went out to his home to preform a crawl space evaluation and found high humidity and water stains on the foundation walls.
The crew decided to install drainage matting across the floor of the crawl space to help direct the water/moisture to the sump pump and dehumidifier. After laying the drainage matting, they ran foam board along all of the walls of the crawl space and sealed all of the openings and vents with an expanding polyurethane foam. A 20mil vapor barrier is laid over top of the matting to fully seal off the space locking out moisture, mold, and other pests.
Now Jacob is enjoying a temperate and dry home, just in time for Summer!
