Spray Foam in Charleston

Challenge
This homeowner in Charleston wished to make a more conditioned space within their attic to make their home more energy efficient.
Solution
Following an energy evaluation by Caroline Energy Conservation, it was determined that the best solution was to install open-cell spray foam insulation. This type of spray foam expands to fill gaps and cracks, creating an effective air barrier that prevents hot or cold air from entering or escaping. By installing it, a conditioned environment can be created in the attic, which will help in maintaining a stable and comfortable temperature. This, in turn, will reduce the workload on the HVAC systems and improve energy efficiency.
