Crawlspace Spray Foam in Myrtle Beach
Challenge
The homeowner in Myrtle Beach discovered mold in their crawlspace, which was causing concern and potential health risks. They sought out Carolina Energy Conservation to find a solution to this issue.
Solution
After an energy evaluation, it was determined that the most effective course of action would be to remove the mold-infested insulation and replace it with closed-cell spray foam. Closed-cell spray foam insulation is an excellent barrier against mold as it creates a shield against moisture. This type of insulation is impermeable to water and effectively prevents moisture from growing within the insulation by filling any gaps and cracks within the crawlspace. With the insulation installed the crawlspace will no longer be persistent with mold and have an abundance of moisture.
